Ford Taurus

Ford Taurus
Most Ford Taurus models are front-wheel drive standard, with all-wheel drive discretionary. Standard capacity originates from Ford's 263-pull, 3.5-liter V6, coupled with a 6-speed programmed transmission. The elevated-exhibition variant that capacities the Ford Taurus SHO is a 3.5-liter, twin-turbocharged "EcoBoost" V6, which makes 365 drive and 350 ft-lb of torque. The motor's several minor turbos allow it to make crest torque actually above unmoving. The engine also has direct injection, which Ford claims delivers "the power of a V8 and the efficiency of a V6."

Ford Taurus SHO includes SelectShift paddle shifters, which allow the driver to command the 6-speed automatic transmission's shifts for curves or mountain roads. Torque-sensing all-wheel-drive is standard on the SHO and it employs electromechanical clutches to send torque to the wheels with the most grip. Electronic power steering works with the sport-tuned suspension to handle the power and bring an agile feel.

The regular Ford Taurus is offered in three trim levels: SE, SEL and Limited. SEL models get painted aluminum wheels and chrome exhaust tips; they also get supplemental parking lamps and heated exterior mirrors. The top-of-the-line Limited adds power leather seats, a reverse sensing system and a premium sound system that includes the Sync voice-driven interface for phones and portable music devices. Limited models also get showy 19-inch chromed aluminum wheels.

Mitsubishi Outlander Sport

Mitsubishi Outlander Sport
Mitsubishi knows having just two competitive vehicles to choose from isn't enough to compete in an industry eager to fill every niche, and the company appears focused on evolving the two lone bright spots in its lineup. The Lancer has spawned many variants, the latest being the Lancer Sportback, a fun-to-drive wagon that doesn't step on the toes of the top-trim Lancer Evolution. The Outlander, meanwhile, recently gave its name to the smaller 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport, a five-passenger crossover looking to make its mark in a currently crowded segment.

Overview
At one time the midsize truck segment had competitors from Mitsubishi, Mazda, and Isuzu, now the segment is smaller. Few competitors remain in the class. All that's left are the Nissan Frontier, the Toyota Tocoma, the Chevy Colorado, and the GMC Canyon. Of course, Nissan has the best offering to date.

2011 Nissan Frontier

The Frontier base model compact truck is a four cylinder offering with a 2.5 Liter 16 valve engine or a 4.0 Liter 24-valve V-6 offering derived from the VQ series. The truck is sold with either a five or six speed manual tranny or a five speed auto gearbox. The Frontier has one of two drive configurations too including 4WD and 2WD. The 4WD has a shift on the fly like system comprising of 4L0, 4H, and 2WD modes. The truck comes as a King Cab with two doors or a Crew cab with four doors.

New Volkswagen Beetle

Volkswagen
Volkswagen has unveiled its new Beetle on the eve of the Shanghai motor show. Another icon has gone under the knife and emerged, well, only slightly differently iconic, but the changes made to the 2012 Beetle are only superficially slight. Volkswagen global marketing director Luca de Meo says of the car that was revealed simultaneously in New York, Berlin and Shanghai, "We worked on the entire packaging of the car, engine, trunk, interior, everything." Take a close look at it, and it's clear.

The new car, which goes on sale in the UK early next year, continues the retro-styling theme of the previous model, which was discontinued in 2010 after selling more than a million units during its 12-year production run. VW boasts that the new car is closer in design to the
