[Indonesia] Green Canyon (Cukang Taneuh)

Green Canyon tourist spot located in the village Kertayasa, Ciamis, West Java, about 31 km from Pangandaran. The name was introduced by Green Canyon tourists from France. Greenish color of river water may be the reason this place called Green Canyon. While the previous name, Cukang Taneuh means land bridge because of the bridge with a width of 3 meters and 40 meters long reach that connects the village with the Village Batukaras Kertayasa.

Party-goers frequenting Kemang’s packed pubs and posh restaurants probably don’t know they’re in prickly company: the area is named after a wild, sweet variety of mango tree known for its irritating sap. This and other little-known facts about the names of places around the capital are the subject of Rachmat Ruchiat’s book, “Asal Usul Nama Tempat Di Jakarta” (“The Origins of the Names of Places in Jakarta”), which was released two weeks ago, just in time for the 484th anniversary of the city’s founding this month.

Jayawijaya Mountains were located in the Puncak Jaya Regency, Papua Province, Indonesia . If you supposed that in the tropical area will not find mountains that were covered snow, you could correct this view after visiting to Jayawijaya Peak, the highest peak in Sudirman Mountains (Sudirman Range) in the Papua Province. [Indonesia] Toba Lake

World famous is the crater Toba Lake in the Batak highlands; approximately five hours drive from Medan, Indonesia. Toba Lake is the largest lake in South East Asia and also one of the most spectacular, surrounded by tall mountains and with the large island of Samosir in the middle. If we descend from the mountain we see the lake glittering in all its beauty. The Dutch writer Rudy Kousbroek even called Toba Lake, 'the most beautiful place on earth'. Most visitors stay on the peninsula of  Tuk Tuk on Samosir, named after the linguist Herman Neubronner van der Tuuk. In general people stay several days on Samosir to discover the island, to visit traditional Batak villages, to swim in the lake and go to the hot springs in Pangururan.

Koil

Koil is an Indonesian rock band. Formed in Bandung, West Java in 1993 by singer J.A Verdijantoro (Otong), his brother, guitarist Donnijantoro (Doni), and two of their friends bassist/guitarist Ibrahim Nasution (Imo) and drummer Leon Ray Legoh (Leon).

Koil released their first recording material, a mini album called Demo From Nowhere in 1994. This mini album was released in limited copies due to short of funds. Two years after their first effort, a major label named Project Q offered the band a contract for releasing album. Koil started recording their first full album and released it in September 1996. Most of songs in this album were taken from their previous mini album Demo From Nowhere.

Taufik Hidayat

Taufik Hidayat (born August 10, 1981 in Bandung, West Java) is an Indonesian badminton player. He is a former world champion and a former Olympic champion in men's singles. He has also won the Indonesian Open six times (1999, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2006). When he was young, he joined the SGS Club, a badminton club in Bandung, where he trained under Iie Sumirat.
Hidayat won the men's singles competition in badminton at the 2004 Summer Olympics. In August 2005, he won the men's singles competition at the IBF World Championships. Popular media has at times focused on the perceived rivalry between Hidayat and Chinese player Lin Dan, referring to the two as "arch rivals".

[Indonesia] Komodo Island

Komodo National Park is located in the center of the Indonesian archipelago, between the islands of Sumbawa and Flores. Established in 1980, initially the main purpose of the Park was to conserve the unique Komodo dragon (Varanus komodoensis) and its habitat. However, over the years, the goals for the Park have expanded to protecting its entire biodiversity, both terrestrial and marine. In 1986, the Park was declared a World Heritage Site and a Man and Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO, both indications of the Park's biological importance.

[Indonesia] Wayang

Wayang is an Indonesian word for theatre (literally "shadow"). When the term is used to refer to kinds of puppet theatre, sometimes the puppet itself is referred to as wayang. Performances of shadow puppet theatre are accompanied by gamelan in Java, and by "gender wayang" in Bali. UNESCO designated Wayang Kulit, a shadow puppet theatre and the best known of the Indonesian wayang, as a Masterpiece of Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity on 7 November 2003. In return for the acknowledgment, UNESCO required Indonesians to preserve their heritage.

Ir. Sukarno

Sukarno, born Kusno Sosrodihardjo (6 June 1901 – 21 June 1970) was the first President of Indonesia.

Sukarno was the leader of his country's struggle for independence from the Netherlands and was Indonesia's first President from 1945 to 1967. He was replaced by one of his generals, Suharto (see Transition to the New Order), and remained under house arrest until his death. Trunyan is a small village at Bali island, Indonesia. This island is home to the vast majority of Indonesia's small Hindu minority. 93.18% of Bali's population adheres to Balinese Hinduism (A Shivaite sect). Bali is also the largest tourist destination in Indonesia and is renowned for its highly developed arts, including dance, sculpture, painting, leather, metal working and music.

Trunyan is an ancient village. It is located at the eastern shore of Lake Batur(Northern Bali). Trunyan is also a Bali Aga village. Bali Aga village is a village which inhabited by descendants of the original Balinese. Bali Aga are a unique ethnic group that still live and practise a way of life that pre-dates modern civilisation. They have pre-Hindu way of life with ancient, neolithic customs and a conscious avoidance of outside influences. The Bali Aga village are shut off by a solid wall surrounding the entire village.
