X-Men: First Class effortlessly snatched the top spot at the box office this weekend with a down home take of $56.4 million. First Class motivated 102,298 tweets at the same time as the same period. On Facebook, the X-Men page added 15,387 new likes from early Friday morning to Sunday night for a total of 2.5 million. Similarly Thor added 85,236 new likes and tallied 62,413 tweets over the course of its opening weekend.

X-Men: First Class is a 2011 American superhero film directed by Matthew Vaughn. In view of the elements showing up in Marvel Comics, it is a prequel to the X-Men film series. X-Men: First Class was discharged June 1, 2011 in the U.K. and then on June 3 in the United States.

X-Men: First Class

X-Men: First Class is set primarily in 1962 during the Cuban Missile Crisis and then centers on the connection among Professor X and Magneto and the origin of their groups, the X-Men and the Brotherhood of Mutants. The film stars James McAvoy as Professor X and Michael Fassbender as Magneto. Other cast members include Kevin Bacon, January Jones, Rose Byrne, Jennifer Lawrence, Zoƫ Kravitz, Nicholas Hoult and Lucas Till. The film was mostly shot in England and parts of the United States.
